The Kathy Ohly Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Kathy Ohly Memorial Scholarship was established in 1994 in memory of Kathy Ohly. Kathy graduated from the University of North Dakota Family Nurse Practitioner-Physician Assistant Program in 1976.

She was active in the NDAPA as President from 1982-1984, Public Education Committee Chair 1987-1991, and Bylaws Committee Chair 1985-1987. Kathy also was active at the National level serving as one of the North Dakota representatives to the AAPA House of Delegates during many national conventions.

Kathy organized an Orthopedic Surgical Team to go to Brazil to provide care for Brazilian children suffering from various orthopedic conditions. She received the 1987 AAPA Humanitarian Award for her efforts.

Kathy served as an inspiration and role model to the Physician Assistant Profession. She passed away August 15, 1993 after a long battle with breast cancer.

The NDAPA awards scholarships annually to North Dakota individuals attending an accredited physician assistant program.
